Nola Mae Whitson's Obituary
Nola Mae Whitson, 86, died in Tecumseh on Tuesday, January 4, 2011. She was born in Morris on February 1, 1924 to Charlie and Margaret (Harvey) Bell. Nola worked as a sales clerk for Montgomery Wards Department Store in Okmulgee until retirement. She was a member of the Second Baptist Church and a Sunday School Teacher. She loved her church family and her own family.
Nola was preceded in death by her husband John Curtis Whitson, Sr. in 1989, a daughter Sharon Adkins, a son John Curtis Whitson, Jr. and three brothers.
She is survived by two grandsons: Kevan White, Sr. and wife Charlena of Tecumseh, and Cory Paul Adkins of Moore, great grandchildren: Kelli Jeanette White, Kevan Wayne White, Jr., and Kaeli Nicole White, and two sisters: Betty Otto of Eufaula and Carol Nichols of Okmulgee.
Services will be on Friday, January 7, 2011 at 10:00 A.M. at the McClendon-Winters Funeral Home Chapel in Okmulgee. Interment will follow at the Okmulgee Cemetery. Casket bearers are Kevan White, Sr., Kevan White, Jr., Kinton Adkins, and Cory Adkins. Viewing will be on Thursday from 2-8 P.M.
