Marvin Lester Brady's Obituary
Marvin Lester Brady was born December 27, 1923 in Mounds to Camollus Ray and Estella (Batterton) Brady. He passed away on Thursday, November 6, 2014 at his home in Okmulgee at 90 years of age. He was a barber in Okmulgee for 25 years before starting his career with Air Power Systems of Tulsa in 1978. Marvin married Mary Thomson on June 5, 1949 in Okmulgee. He was a faithful member of Second Baptist Church where he served as a Deacon and for many years as the Sunday School Director. Marvin was a 50 year member of Masonic Lodge 199 of Okmulgee and the Okmulgee Memorial Hospital Auxiliary where he volunteered countless hours. He was preceded in death by his parents, daughter, Jane Ann Gregory, a sister, Jeraldine Martin and a brother, Waldo Brady.
Survivors include his wife of 65 years, Mary, two granddaughters, Tiffany Secory of Broken Arrow and Jennifer Phipps of Florida, great grandchildren, Brison, Brooklyn and Daphne, a sister-in-law, Shirley Kopfle of Okmulgee and his twin sister, Marge Morton of Norman.
A funeral service will be held 2:00 P.M. Tuesday, November 11, 2014 at the Second Baptist Church with Reverend Steve Gallagher officiating. Interment will follow in the Okmulgee Cemetery. The family will receive friends Monday evening from 5:00 P.M. – 7:00 P.M. at the McClendon-Winters Funeral Home Chapel. Arrangements are under the direction of the McClendon-Winters Funeral Home of Okmulgee.
