Lois Lavern Kolakowski-Walker's Obituary
Lois Kolakowski Walker of Okmulgee entered Beulah Land on Sunday morning June 6th, 2021 after suffering a major stroke. Lois was born in Welty, Oklahoma on September 6th, 1941 to Wilburn and Leora Baldridge and attended school in Nuyaka, Oklahoma where she graduated in 1959. She leaves to mourn her passing; husband Richard of Dewar; sons Terry Baker of Okmulgee and Billy Kolakowski of Tulsa; granddaughter Sommer Frank and grandson Kalem Baker, both of Okmulgee. Great grandsons Tyler and Wesley Frank, Jaxon Pollard, great granddaughters Rylee and Dawnlee Frank of Okmulgee. Lois is also survived by three brothers; Fred Baldridge (Betty) of Broken Arrow; Arvil Baldridge (Retha) of Oklahoma City and Bobby Baldridge (Joyce) of Ozark Missouri; sister-in-law Reva Baldridge of Prague; as well as her adopted Sister Gail McIntosh of Jenks and 15 nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband Jack Kolakowski, Sister Jemetta Heard, brothers Audy and Reverend James Haskell. Three children Cari Baker Long, Jackie Jimerson and Dennis Kolakowski; and nephews Tommy Baldridge and Jimmy Heard.
After graduation, Lois attended college at ORU for a short time and later worked as a waitress as well as the secretary for Crosstown PH Church and retired as secretary of Martin Enterprises. If you knew Lois, you know she loved to sing and sing she did, from funerals, church services and the prison ministry that she and Jack started He’s Alive Prison Ministry. She also enjoyed baking pies for her friends and family; her homemade crusts were delicious. Lois was a joy to be around, always had a smile on her face ready to help those in need or sing to anyone who would listen. Always looking for the next garage sale, auction or anywhere she could buy something “at a bargain”.
Funeral services will be at 2pm Thursday June 10th, 2021 at First Assembly of God Church in Okmulgee with Reverend Doke and Oklahoma State Representative Scott Fetgatter. Burial will follow at the Okmulgee Cemetery.
Arrangements have been entrusted to the McClendon-Winters Funeral Home of Okmulgee.
