As a kid it was always fun to go to Aunt Hattie's house, but I didn't like having to use the outhouse. I always tried to get that out of the way before we got there, but that didn't always work out. I was so glad when Uncle Otto built on the very nice bathroom. Aunt Hattie always welcomed everybody and she loved to cook for them and talk them. She always had a beautiful yard and a garden. She was a favorite aunt and I will miss her dearly. Praying for all the family. Love you all!!!! Donna & Larry Engle
What a Precious Lady she was. I have so many wonderful memories that I shared with her. We lived right next door to Grandma Holdaway. I would ride my bike down the driveway and see Grandma Holdaway working in the garden. She would always walk to the fence to give me a hug and would ask if I wanted to be her helper. I would go back to the house and ask Mom if it was ok and of course it always was. I would help her in the garden pulling weeds and gathering vegetables. When she was finished I would help carry everything to the house. She would have me come inside while she fixed us a cold beverage and a snack. We would always take it out on the porch to enjoy. Also every year I couldn't wait for summer cause her granddaughter Neta would be here to visit. Neta is my best friend. We had so much fun together playing and also helping in the garden & flowers. Grandma Holdaway will always be very special in my heart. Rest in Peace Grandma Holdaway! Also my condolences to all of her Family!!!
