Doyal Miller's Obituary
Doyal E. Miller, 87, died in Okmulgee on Tuesday, May 18, 2010. He was born in Castle, Oklahoma on May 9, 1923 to Clyde and Blanche (Pearcey) Miller. He married Iva Jean Cline in the middle of an Okmulgee County road on November 26, 1945. Doyal was a veteran of the U.S. Army serving in WWII in Rome, Southern France, Normandy, Northern France, Ardennes Rhineland, Central Europe and was a Crew Chief on Troop Carrier Gliders here in Okmulgee at the Glider School. Doyal was a Okmulgee City Councilor, was instrumental in Okmulgee getting the George Nigh Rehab Center, he at one time was a rodeo clown, retired from American St. Gobain Glass Company in 1974 then went to work for the Rehab Center when it was located on the OSUIT Campus. He was preceded in death by his parents, a son; Richard Wayne Miller one brother Claude Miller and three sisters; Jewell Kimbrell, Irene Billens and Mary Rogers.
Survivors include his loving wife Iva of the home, three nephews, three nieces and a host of friends.
Funeral services will be at the Grand Avenue Church of Christ on Friday at 2:30 pm with Bob Howard and Kelly Bowen speaking. Interment and Military honors will follow at the Westlawn Cemetery in Henryetta. Visitation will be at the McClendon-Winters Funeral Home on Thursday, 12-8 pm.
