Darrel Lee Foster's Obituary
Darrel Lee Foster, 90, passed away October 20, 2012 surrounded by family. Darrel was born September 25, 1922 to Everett and Minnie Foster in Eufaula, Oklahoma. He was a longtime resident of Morris, Oklahoma where he farmed and ranched for many years. Darrel was a World War II Veteran where he served in the Army from 1942 – 1945. He was ordained as Deacon on May 27, 1956 at the First Baptist Church in Boynton, Oklahoma. Darrel was employed by the Okmulgee Fire Department in 1957 until he retired in 1981.
He was preceded in death by his first wife Mary Wanda Foster, one son Darrel Wayne Foster, one grandson Steven Hogue, sisters: Elouise Foster, MaryAnn Foster and Judy Foster, and brothers Jerrel Foster and Charles Foster.
Darrel is survived by wife Billie of the home, daughters: Karen Kay Toller and husband Joe of Broken Arrow, Rita Flanary and husband Kenneth of Morris, Lisa Roberts and husband James of Wetumka, stepdaughters: Debbie Gaither and husband Rick of McAlester, Tammy Hoyst and husband Jim of Morris, stepsons: Terry Huff and wife Julie of Eufaula, George Huff and wife Sherry of Eufaula, sisters: Wanda Lee Guthrie and Virginia Daniels both of Muskogee, brothers: Earl Foster of Muskogee, Bob Foster of Wainright and Eddie Foster of Schulter, seven grandchildren, fourteen great grandchildren, eighteen step grandchildren and eighteen step great grandchildren.
A funeral service will be held on Thursday, October 25, 2012 at 1:00 P.M. at the Trinity Baptist Church in Morris, Oklahoma with Reverend Cecil Guthrie and Reverend Richard Kerr officiating. Interment will follow at the Morris Cemetery. Casket bearers are Clayton Flanary, Mike Flanary, Allen Snelson, Gary DiGiacomo, Mark Miller, Tommy Hogue, Craig Rusco and Caleb Huff. Honorary casket bearers are Zachary Huff, Paden Huff, Nathan Huff and all past and present Firemen. Friends may visit the McClendon-Winters Funeral Home in Morris on Wednesday from 1:00 – 8:00 P.M.
