Clyde Jones' Obituary
Clyde Jerrell Jones, a longtime Okmulgee resident, passed away Monday morning in Tulsa at the age of 80. Clyde was born November 13, 1934 in Ardmore, Oklahoma to the late Charles Maryland and Camolia (McClatchy) Jones. Clyde went on to serve his country in the U.S. Army where he served as a tank gunner. He then went on to become an instrumentation specialist in the Oklahoma Natural Gas industry for 34 years. When Clyde retired he enjoyed being outdoors, fishing, walking, watching and reading westerns and spending time with his grandkids. He was also a member of the American Legion.
Clyde is preceded in death by his parents, wife, Lois Ann Jones, daughter, Charlotte Ann Jones, granddaughter, Cassie Mann, two sisters, and a brother.
Survivors include his son, Wade Jones, daughter, Staci Mann, brother, Raymond Jones, grandchildren, Jeff Jones, Samantha Jones, Chris Jones, Brady Jones, Matthew Mann, and great-grandson, Thomas Jones.
A service for Mr. Jones will be held Thursday, November 5, 2015 at 10:00 a.m. in the McClendon-Winters Funeral Home Chapel in Okmulgee with Rev. Jeff Mann officiating. Interment will follow at 3:30 p.m. at Griffin-Hillcrest Memorial Park in Ardmore, Oklahoma. Arrangements are under the direction of the McClendon-Winters Funeral Home of Okmulgee.
