Uncle Jerry was caring, dependable, generous and loving. He always encouraged me with my riding and competing in Barrel Racing and if I had a competition in Oklahoma, he was there! The first time I came to Pawhuska, Uncle Jerry drove into town and checked out the hotel situation. He decided that I needed to move to the two story hotel because it was safer, which I did! Then after the competition, we wnt to Bad Brad's Bar B Q place for a delicious supper, along with my mother and Wade and Shelley Jones, Jeff, Sammi and baby Christopher. Another special memory was riding out to Okmulgee Lake with my cousin Staci who was chauffeuring myself, Uncle Jerry and Aunt Lois. All of a sudden Staci came to an abrupt and quick stop. Uncle Jerry said "Good Lord, Sis, what in the world was that about?" And Staci informed all of us that she could not run over the Oklahoma state bird! We had a great laugh over that!
