William Robert Drye's Obituary
William Robert Drye, 68, resident of Okmulgee, died at home on Saturday, November 27, 2010. He was born on June 10, 1942 in Pine Bluff, Arkansas to Roy Delbert and Gertrude (Robertson) Drye. On June 10, 1960 in Artesia, California he married Charlene Matthews.
William was preceded in death by his parents, an infant son William Robert Thomas Drye, and four brothers: Delbert Drye, R.M. Drye, John (Red) Drye, and Paul Drye.
He is survived by his wife Charlene Drye of the home, three daughters: Teri Shrewsbury, Sheri Jackson and husband Paul, and Cindi Howell and husband Bobby, seven grandchildren: Joseph Shrewsbury, Timothy Shrewsbury, James Shrewsbury and wife Lori, Tina Shanks and husband Michael, Cody Jackson, Matthew Howell and Erin Howell, three great grandchildren: Marrah Shanks, Trinity Shanks, and Haley Shrewsbury, sister Bernice Kelley, brother Ed Drye, brother Donald Drye, sister Bertha (Cricket) Ashbrook and numerous nieces and nephews.
Services will be held at the Calvary Baptist Church on Monday, November 29, 2010 at 2:30 P.M. with Reverend Lawrence Matlock officiating. Casket bearers are Derek Davis, James Shrewsbury, Paul Jackson, Cody Jackson, Bobby Howell, and Matthew Howell. Honorary casket bearers are Muriel Wright, David Morgan, Bill Fuller, Charles Davis, the Deacons of Calvary Baptist Church, and Luther Pope. Friends may visit the funeral home on Sunday from 3:00-6:00 P.M. Arrangements are under the direction of the McClendon-Winters Funeral Home.
