Wesley E. Davis' Obituary
Wesley “Buddy” E. Davis, 91, of Tulsa, Oklahoma, formerly of Okmulgee, passed away Friday, December 04, 2015 at the Sterling House in Tulsa.
He was born the son of George Franklin and Trilby Josephine (Berry) Davis on June 8, 1924. He married Norma L. Wood on September 1, 1946 at the First United Methodist Church in Okmulgee, Oklahoma.
Buddy was a proud WWII veteran serving in the Army Air Corp and later the United States Air Force. He retired in 1965 with the rank of Lieutenant Colonel. He also was an alumni of Culver Military Academy and Texas Christian University. Buddy and Norma spent over 50 years working with the Boy Scouts of America. He was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Okmulgee and the Disabled American Veterans. Also, Buddy worked with the Sheriff's Patrol, was a 32 Degree Mason, a member of the Okmulgee Masonic Lodge #199 and was a Shriner. He was a wonderful husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, and great-great grandfather who will be sadly missed.
Survivors include his daughter, Sandra Davis of Flora, IL; Sister Lilly Mae Kiser of Okmulgee, Grandchildren Wesley (Sheila) Sibit of Enid, OK, Wendy (Jeff) Kohn of Flora, IL, Thomas Sibit of Texas, Jennifer and Tonya, John Davis, and Josh Davis.
Mr. Davis was preceded in death by both parents, George Davis and Trilby Couch, wife Norma, son John W. Davis, brother Watson B. Davis, and sister Mary Lou Bonham.
A funeral service will be held at 10:00 A.M. Wednesday, December 9, 2015 at the McClendon-Winters Funeral Home Chapel with Reverend Brian Matthews officiating. The family will receive friends prior to the service, beginning at 9:00 A.M.. Interment will follow the service at the Okmulgee Cemetery. Arrangements have been entrusted to the McClendon-Winters Funeral Home of Okmulgee.
