Veda Smith's Obituary
Veda May Smith died in Tulsa on October 26, 2009. She was 82 years old. Veda was born on May 16, 1927 in Rowe, Arkansas to Henry Wesley and Ethel (Gollaher) Simmons. On February 13, 1946 she married Jack B. Smith in Sand Springs. Veda was retired from Kerr Glass Plant and a member of the First Assembly of God Church in Beggs. She loved gardening and flowers.
Her husband Jack, one brother Barney Simmons and a sister Katherine Alverson preceded her in death.
Veda is survived by her sons; John Smith and wife Kathy, and Roger Smith and wife Janice, daughters; Ethel Sanchez and O.H., and Violet Cochran and husband Larry, two brothers; Arlon Terrill and Bill Simmons, two sisters; Lucille Burcham and Juanita Wofford, eleven grandchildren, seventeen great grandchildren and five great-great grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held at the First Assembly of God Church in Beggs on Thursday, October 29, 2009 at 2:00 P.M. with the Reverend Robert Yandell officiating. Interment will follow at the Beggs Cemetery. Viewing will be at the McClendon-Winters Funeral Home in Beggs on Wednesday from 1:00 P.M. until 8:00 P.M.
