Telon Sayles Miller Sr.'s Obituary
Telon Sayles Miller, Sr. 79, died in Sapulpa, Oklahoma on Thursday, March 15, 2012. He was born in Nuyaka, Oklahoma on February 24, 1933 to Author Lee and Pearlie Golda (Sayles) Miller. He attended Beggs Schools and worked in construction until his retirement from Flintco in 1989. He married Elizabeth Carrethers on August 23, 1953. Telon was a member of the Spring Bluff Baptist Church. Preceded him in death were his parents, six brothers; Author Lee Miller, William Miller, Nathaniel Miller, Raymond Miller, Theora Miller, Elgin Earl Miller and three sisters; Cecil Mae Goudeau, November Harris, Reasie Queen Miller.
Survivors include his wife Elizabeth Miller of the home in Beggs, two sons; Telon S. Miller, Jr. and wife Edwina of Tulsa, Ronald Ray Miller and wife Lisa of Tulsa, Two daughters; Mary Lou Miller of Beggs, Charlotte Ann Avery and husband Leon of Tulsa, 13 grandchildren and ten great grandchildren.
Funeral service will be on Saturday, March 24, 2012 12:00 pm at the First Baptist Church in Beggs. Rev. Robert Mingilton will officiate. Visitation will be at the McClendon-Winters Funeral Home in Beggs on Friday, March 23, 2012 11 am until 7 pm. Condolences may be made at mcclendon-winters.com.
