Steven Edward Hankins' Obituary
Steve Hankins found his eternal resting place Friday January 31, 2014 in Okmulgee, Oklahoma.
Steve was loved by many people in this town. He ran Hankins Building Company with his dad for over 20 years, until he took it over in 2002. Steve ran the Guitar Center on Main Street until they closed its doors. If you knew him, you knew that he was an incredibly hard worker who loved to make people happy. For many years he ran the Okmulgee Gun Slingers, a group who reenacted a time he and his close friends loved... The old west and the cowboys who made it such a loved period in time. They performed at the Okmulgee Pecan festival for many many years. Steve loved to be out on the lake fishing, or out at his good friends' land lease enjoying being in the open air, camping and shooting targets. Most of all, He loved spending time with his grandchildren. He went from this life happy.
Steve was born on December 4, 1956 in Gridley California to Bob and Betty Hankins.
He is proceeded in death by his Father, Bob Hankins and Grandparents, Robert and Mae Shackelford of California and Louie and Ola Hankins of Okmulgee.
Steve is survived by many loved ones who will miss him dearly.
His mother Betty Hankins of Okmulgee, Sister Donna Conway of Okmulgee, 3 children. Daughter, Brooke Provence and husband Mickey of Okmulgee, 2 sons, Peter Hankins and girlfriend Amanda Cowell of Okmulgee and Garrett Hankins and wife Michelle of Nevada Missouri; Mother of his children and friend Jayme Hankins of Okmulgee, Niece, Heather Conway-Jeminez and husband Carlos and Lee Conway and wife Tish of Duncan Oklahoma. 3 great nieces and nephew Alea, Elle, Nova and Andy; His Pride and Joy, 6 grandchildren Noah and Bella Hankins, Evan and Sawyer Grey Provence and Jayde and Kaliecia Carswell.
A service to celebrate Steve's Life will be held 10:00 A.M. Monday, February 3, 2014 at the First Baptist Church of Okmulgee.
