Stephen Joe Weller's Obituary
Stephen Joe Weller was born the first child of Raymond Joe and Dorothy Nell (Wadley) Weller on April 11, 1949 in Okmulgee. He passed from his earthly home to his heavenly home on Tuesday, October 28, 2025. For a short time the family relocated to Kansas where Stephen's younger brother, Rodney, was born. Soon after, the family returned to Okmulgee. Stephen graduated from Okmulgee High School in 1968 and attended OSU Tech. He worked for several years for his uncle Carl Wadley and later for the City of Okmulgee Street Department, where he retired as the street sweeper operator. Stephen was a member of the First Baptist Church of Okmulgee. He enjoyed fishing, western movies and watching Andy Griffith, but his greatest love was his grand kids.
Stephen was preceded in death by his parents. Survivors include his son, Cody Carl Weller and wife Melissa, brother, Rodney Weller and wife Luana, grandchildren, River and wife Ayleah, Braxton, Colton, Asher, C.J., Deanna and Katie, great grandchildren, Hazel, Alaina, Aiyonna, and Sierra, nieces, Megan Goodman and husband Jerod and Sarah Weller, great niece and nephew, Addison and Joe, and cousins, Don Wadley and wife Christie, Grace McClester, Michael Wetmore and former daughter-in-law Mandy Lansdale.
Friends may visit the funeral home on Sunday, November 2, 2025 from 1:00 P.M. - 5:00 P.M.
Funeral services will be held 11:00 A.M., Monday, November 3, 2025 at the McClendon-Winters Funeral Home Chapel with Dr. Dennis Taylor officiating. Interment will follow in the Okmulgee Cemetery. Casket bearers will be Cody Weller, River Lansdale, Colton Weller, Braxton Weller, Jerod Goodman and Paul Cox. Leo Cazenave will serve as an honorary casket bearer.
