Solomon Lee Johnson, Sr.'s Obituary
Solomon Lee "Sonny" Johnson, Sr. was born in Morris on March 10, 1955 to the late Cy and Rose Marie (Fields) Johnson. He passed away in Muskogee on Tuesday, June 7, 2016.
Sonny worked as a mechanic and a salesman. He loved people, especially his friends and family. He enjoyed playing pool. He also loved God and the Bible.
Sonny was preceded in death by his parents, wife, Cheryl Johnson, brothers: Daniel Brown, Paul Johnson, and Yommie Monahwee, and sisters: Wanda Berryhill, Phyliss Brown, Beverly Grummitt, and Geraldine Berryhill.
Left to cherish his memory are his children: Rachel Langley and son Tyler, Solomon Johnson, Jr., Burt Hopkins, Scott Bevenue and Tamma Makinson, sisters: Cheryl Monahwee Marello and Jessina Brown, brothers: Joseph Johnson, Cy Johnson, Jr., George Johnson, Steve Monahwee, Mike Monahwee, Daren Monahwee, and Anthony Monahwee, along with his aunt, Alice Burnside, and uncle, Solomon Monahwee, as well as many nieces, nephews, and friends.
A funeral service for Sonny will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Friday, June 10, 2016 at Apostolic Life Church with Reverend Josh Bower officiating. Serving as casketbearers will be Charlie LaSarge, Bill Edwards, Paul Hudson, Steve Powell, Ralph Brown, and Bourbon LaSarge. Arrangements have been entrusted to McClendon-Winters Funeral Home.
