Shirley Mae Shipley's Obituary
Shirley Mae Shipley died in Tulsa on September 9, 2013 at 76 years of age. Shirley was born July 7, 1937 to Boyd Orville and Nellie Ann (Arnold) Bailey. She was born in Okmulgee and raised in Nuyaka. On May 24, 1980 she married Bruce C. Shipley. She enjoyed listening to country and gospel music. Shirley loved her family and her greatest joy was taking care of her “kids.”
She was preceded in death by her husband Bruce on August 23, 2003, daughter Carolyn Shanks, two brothers: Allan Bailey and Daniel Bailey and two infant sisters: Reba Bailey and Alliene Bailey. Shirley is survived by her seven children: daughter Sharolynn Cleveland of Sapulpa, daughter Loretta Dalene Everett and husband David of Sapulpa, daughter Deborah Wynn and John Creason of Beggs, son William Wade of Sapulpa, son Randy Wade and wife Monica of Mill Creek, Washington, son Mark Shipley and wife Roberta of Jenks, daughter Connie Hicks and husband Dave of Sapulpa, nineteen grandchildren, thirteen great grandchildren, two sisters: Jeannie Beasley and husband Don of Morris and Loretta McCall and husband Truman of Nuyaka, one brother Jerry Bailey and wife Marlene of Mannford and a host of nieces, nephews and friends.
A funeral service honoring Shirley’s life will be held on Friday, September 13, 2013 at 10:00 A.M. at the McClendon-Winters Funeral Home Chapel in Okmulgee with John Creason officiating. Interment will follow at the Okfuskee Cemetery. Friends may see Shirley at the funeral home on Thursday from 1:00 – 8:00 P.M.
