Shirley Kay Robinson's Obituary
Shirley Kay Robinson passed away Friday evening, September 4, 2015 at her home in Beggs. She was 66 years of age. Shirley was born October 7, 1948 in Bristow, Oklahoma to the late William and Sarah (Thornton) Tyler. She graduated from Beggs High School in 1966 and married Ronald Robinson on July 27, 1971 in Mounds. She worked for many years as a department store cashier and airline reservationist. Shirley enjoyed collecting Pyrex bowls, doing ceramics, sewing and reading People Magazine, but her greatest joy was cooking and baking. Shirley was a member of Crossroads Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by her parents, a sister and three brothers. Survivors include her husband of 44 years, Ronald, of the home, two daughters, Trenda Purcell of Moore and Keena Erwin of Blanchard, twin sister, Sharon Berg of Haskell, sisters, Cathy Crowe of Beggs, Mary Casillas of Okmulgee and Doris Crawford of Roscoe, Missouri, a brother, Ronnie Tyler of Okmulgee, grandchildren, Keagan Purcell, Kamden Purcell, Madeline Erwin, Max Erwin and Sydney Purcell, one great grandchild, Dixon Lowther and numerous nieces and nephews.
A funeral service will be held 2:00 P.M., Wednesday, September 9, 2015 at the Crossroads Baptist Church with Reverend Travis Markes officiating. Interment will follow in the Beggs Cemetery. Casketbearers will be John Tighlman, Ed Taylor, Steve Swanson, Mike Randol, Randy Six, JD Markes. Friends may visit the funeral home on Tuesday from 3:00 P.M.-8:00 P.M. Memorial contributions may be made in Shirley's name to the cancer charity of the donor's choice.
