Sara Marie Basquez's Obituary
Sara Marie Basquez was born August 7, 1988 in Tulsa to Tommy and Dorene (Perryman) Basquez. She passed away on Monday, February 11, 2013 in McAlester at the age of 24. Sara graduated from Morris High School in 2007 and moved to McAlester where she worked at Bath and Body Works and was a babysitter. Sara was also a licensed phlebotomist. She loved hunting and the outdoors and will be remembered as a great mother and loving person. She was preceded in death by her grandparents, Daniel and Joyce Basquez and John Perryman and her aunt, Dos Basquez. She is survived by the love of her life and companion, Chase Howard and her daughter, Mahiya Howard and her other daughter, Bella, the dog, all of the home, her father, Tommy Basquez of Morris, mother, Dorene Bertman of Morris, a brother Brandon Basquez of Morris, a sister, Shea’ Basquez of Morris, her grandmother, Lahoma Perryman, mother and father-in-law, Jeff and Lori Taylor of Morris and Sam Howard of Walters, brother and sister-in-law, Dalton and Courtney Howard of Morris, niece and nephew, Reme Howard, Gavin Basquez and Lilly Basquez, aunts and uncles, Billy and Jan Basquez, Sharon and Lloyd Morris, Mike Basquez, Carolyn and Rusty Jamison, Shelly Edgeman, Coy and Sherry Lewis, Danny Lewis, Willie Albert Lewis, and Cory and Jerri Dunagan and numerous cousins and loving friends.
A funeral service will be held 2:00 P.M. Friday, February 15, 2013 at the First Baptist Church in Okmulgee with Reverend Lloyd Morris officiating. Interment will follow in the Okmulgee Cemetery. Casketbearers will be Chase Howard, Tommy Basquez, Jerritt Basquez, Brandon Basquez, Justin Huskey, Sam Howard, Phillip Twist, Steve Basquez and Joey Basquez. Friends and family may visit the funeral home on Thursday. Arrangements are under the direction of the McClendon-Winters Funeral Home of Okmulgee.
