I see Dr. Alexander sadly passed a year ago. My sincere belated condolences to the family.
Just today, I googled his name after remembering & reading about him in the many letters I have saved over all these years from my husband while he served in Vietnam. He spoke so highly of “Bob” through his letters & after his return. My husband, Ralph Macek, an MD (GP) served with him at Chu Chi & assisted in many surgeries. He had such respect for him as a surgeon & good friend. I think they kept each other sane during an insane time. Ralph passed 11/07/19. He had practiced Family Medicine in Altoona, Pa. for 38 years. He had a good life and the obituary would indicate the same for Dr. Alexander.

I worked with Dr Bob at the VA Medical Center in Iron Mtn, MI. He was a brilliant surgeon and great boss and friend. He was loved by all his co-workers and patients.
My deepest condolences to the Alexander family.

I had the privilege of working with Dr. Alexander in Stuttgart Germany. He was an amazing man and physician. He had a large piece of art on his office wall titled 'war is not healthy for children and other living things.' Attached - he had placed all the pieces of shrapnel he had removed from soldiers while saving lives as a surgeon in Viet Nam - something that will never be forgotten.

Sincere condolences to Doctor Bob’s entire family. Doctor Bob’s dedicated service to his country and his community cannot be understated as is true also of the long line of Alexander doctors who dedicated much of their lives to taking care of patients in Okmulgee and elsewhere. Doctor Bob and Julia were also fine neighbors, friends and supporters of my parents Jim and Iris Brownfield. Goodbye Doctor Bob, I will miss your presence when visiting the Brownfield home in Okmulgee.

All of the Goodwin family have been patients of the family of Alexander Doctors. Dr Robert Alexander’s Father delivered me at the Okmulgee Hospital, 1952, that was then located on Okmulgee Street.
