Rex Thomas Young's Obituary
Rex Thomas Young, passed away at the age of 51 years, at his home in Okmulgee, Oklahoma on Wednesday, August 31st, after a six-month battle with lung cancer. Rex was a lifetime resident of Okmulgee County, having been born in Okmulgee on July 28, 1965. He attended and graduated school in Okmulgee. Rex was an employee at East Central Electric for 26 plus years. As a Senior Lineman in Charge of Maintenance, he had the opportunity to serve the citizens of the cooperative community, and did so with great pride.
Survivors include his wife of the home, Deidra; two children, Danielle Young and Reid Young, both of Glenpool, Oklahoma; two step-daughters, Devin Davis of Stillwater, Oklahoma and KayDee Davis of Okmulgee, Oklahoma; mother, Carolyn McCullar and her husband Jessie "Skip" McCullar of Henryetta, Oklahoma; two brothers, Wesley Young and wife Janet of Tulsa, Oklahoma and Timothy Young of Okmulgee, Oklahoma, and a host of family and friends. Rex was preceded in death by his father, Willie Ray.
Services will be held Saturday, September 3, 2016 at 2:00 P.M., at the First Assembly of God Church, 4th and Seminole, Okmulgee. Interment will follow in the Okmulgee Cemetery. Family and friends are welcome to attend viewing and visitation on Friday, September 2nd, between 6:00 P.M. - 8:00 P.M.
