Norma Jean Patterson's Obituary
Norma Jean (Penn) Patterson, a resident of Miami and a longtime Okmulgee resident, passed away Friday, July 16, 2021 in Miami at 94 years of age. She was born April 19, 1927 in Okmulgee to the late William Paul and Nola Ann (Robertson) Penn. She married Kenneth G. “Pat” Patterson on May 18, 1943 in Okmulgee. Norma Jean was a nurse at the Old Okmulgee Hospital and later worked for Drs. W.L. and Bob Hasselman for twenty five years. Throughout the years she followed her children, grandchildren and then great grandchildren to all of their sporting events. She will be remembered for being a great cook and her willingness to always help. Norma Jean was a member of the Calvary Baptist Church in Okmulgee.
Preceding Norma Jean in death were her parents, husband, son, Mike Patterson and two brothers, Raymond Penn and James Penn.
Survivors include her sons, Dale Patterson and wife Donna of Miami and Rick Patterson and wife Linda of Okmulgee, a daughter-in-law, Marcia Patterson of Nebraska, grandchildren, Steve Patterson, Stacie Patterson Maple, Bill Patterson and wife Suzy, Kelli Jones and husband Ryan, Clay Patterson and wife Ashley and Kyle Patterson and wife Robin and twelve great grandchildren.
Friends may visit the funeral home on Tuesday, July 20, 2021 from 10:00 A.M. – 8:00 P.M. A graveside service will be held 11:00 A.M., Wednesday, July 21, 2021 at the Okmulgee Cemetery with Dr. Dennis Taylor officiating.
