Noreen A. Nelson's Obituary
Noreen Ann Nelson, age 70 and longtime resident of Okmulgee, passed away on Wednesday, August 29, 2018 in Sapulpa, Oklahoma. She was born on October 23, 1947 to the late Haskell and Lois Verba (Clemons) Clark in Glendale, California.
Noreen attended Okmulgee High School and graduated in 1965. She later attended OSU Okmulgee and worked at the college as an Administrative Assistant and retired after 30 plus years of service for the school. Noreen enjoyed crocheting, sewing, cross-stitching, cooking and spending time with her grandchildren and her family. She was an avid member of the Red Hat Society and a longtime member of the First Baptist Church of Okmulgee.
She is preceded in death by her parents and a brother Mike Garrett.
Survivors include two daughters, Dawn Mowdy and Aimee Hamon of Okmulgee, two grandchildren, Tiffanie Wynn and husband Robert of Fort Stewart, Georgia and Blake Mowdy of Whiteman Air Force Base, Missouri. Two brothers, Buddy Clark of Sana Cruz, California and Don Garrett of Okemah, Oklahoma.
Funeral services for Noreen will be on Wednesday, September 5, 2018 at 10 A.M. at the First Baptist Church of Okmulgee with Dr. Dennis Taylor officiating. Viewing for Noreen will be on Tuesday, September 4, 2018 from 11 A.M. till 5 P.M. at the McClendon-Winters Funeral Home of Okmulgee.
Arrangements have been entrusted to the McClendon-Winters Funeral Home of Okmulgee.
