Ned Leonard Hodge's Obituary
Ned Leonard Hodge, 78 year old Okmulgee resident, passed away Sunday, October 15, 2017 at Hillcrest South in Tulsa. Ned was born February 16, 1939 in Okmulgee to the late Leonard and Lydia (Bullard) Hodge. He graduated from Schulter High School in 1958 and was a longtime member of the Schulter Baptist Church. Ned worked for OTASCO for 25 years and later became a Process Server. He worked as a Reserve Officer at the Okmulgee Police Department and Okmulgee County Sheriffs Office. Ned had also served as Vice-Chairman of the Creek Nation Housing Authority.
He was preceded in death by his parents and two brothers, Richard and George Hodge. Survivors include his children, Jesse Hodge and wife Dorothy of Glenpool and Debbie Hodge of Okmulgee, longtime companion, Joyce Hodge of Okmulgee, brothers, Chester Hodge of Okmulgee and Jim Hodge and wife Dolores of Paragould, Arkansas, grandchildren, Jesse Hodge, Jr., Chris George, Lacey Thompson, Kylee Aguilar, Taylor Conner and Brandon Vovchik, great grandchildren, Temberlynn Davis, Jude Aguilar and Ken Aguilar, and numerous nieces and nephews.
A funeral service will be held 10:00 A.M. Friday, October 20, 2017 at the McClendon-Winters Funeral Home Chapel. Interment will follow in the Okmulgee Cemetery. Casketbearers will be Brandon Vovchik, Ryan Conner, Chris George, Larry Jobe, Wayne Golightly and Brian Rogers. Honorary Casketbearers will be Sheridan Swinney and Jesse Hodge, Jr.
The family will receive friends on Thursday evening from 5:00 P.M. – 7:00 P.M. at the funeral home.
Arrangements have been entrusted to the McClendon-Winters Funeral Home of Okmulgee.
