Mary Lou Bailey's Obituary
Mary Lou (McCulloch) Bailey was born Monday, August 4, 1927 in Okmulgee to the late Roy Sterling and Gladys Aleen (Border) McCulloch. She passed away at her home on Thursday, February 5, 2015 at the age of 87. Mary Lou attended the University of Oklahoma and was a member of the Tri Delta Sorority. She married Dick Bailey on February 12, 1950 at the First Christian Church in Okmulgee. Mary Lou had been a longtime member of PEO Chapter Z and the Okmulgee Service League. She loved traveling, antiques and going to estate sales, but her greatest joy was spending time with her family.
Mary Lou was preceded in death by her parents, brothers, Glen and Gordon McCulloch, a daughter-in-law, Pat Bailey and a son-in-law, Max Keck.
Survivors include her husband of 64 years, Dick Bailey, her children, Mike Bailey of Okmulgee, Jill Keck of Okmulgee and Bill Bailey of Owasso, her grandchildren, Luke Keck and wife Angela of The Woodlands, Texas, Bart Bailey and wife Megan of Morris, Becky Birchall and husband Adam of Jenks, Cole Bailey and wife Brittany of Okmulgee and Betsy Bailey of Norman and a special niece, Riley Daily and husband Spencer of Okmulgee.
A funeral service will be held 1:00 P.M. Monday, February 9, 2015 at the First Baptist Church with Dr. Dennis Taylor officiating. Interment will follow in the Okmulgee Cemetery. Casketbearers will be Gary Moores, John Day, Kenneth Mann, Mark Dobbs, Chris Romine, Bobby Brock, Tom Cornish and Clint Carpenter. Honorary casketbearers will be Bob Inglish and Paul Brown. Friends may visit the funeral home on Sunday from 1:00 P.M. – 6:00 P.M. Immediately following the committal service, a reception will be held at the McClendon-Winters Life Celebration Center at 310 East Sixth Street.
The family suggests memorial contributions be made to the St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital in Mary Lou’s memory.
