Mark Steven Bennett's Obituary
Mark Steven Bennett was born December 1, 1955, in Okmulgee, Oklahoma. He died of natural causes while on a camping adventure to celebrate his recovery from cancer. He was found in his campsite on the knoll of a mountain in Montana with his two dogs. He last wrote in his journal how at peace he was with himself and how unusually bright and beautiful the stars were that night. Mark was light hearted and it was made of gold. He loved the outdoors, his family, friends and his dogs. Mark's passion was his music and playing the drums. Mark also loved to travel and was privileged to do that in his field of work involving Pipeline Right-of-Way and Petroleum Land Management. Mark is survived by his two dogs Bristow and Harlin; brother David Bennett of Tulsa; five cousins, Steven Beene of Dallas, Ben Thorman, III of Jenks, Ross Thorman of Okmulgee, Randy Thorman of Pryor, Salli Davis of Tulsa and God sister, LeeAnn Martin of Broken Arrow. Services will be held Wednesday at 10:00am, September 5th, at the First United Methodist Church, 1115 S. Boulder Ave., Tulsa. Following a reception, a committal service will be held at the Okmulgee Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, the family respectfully request a donation be made in Mark's memory to either SPCA or Animal Aid.
