Marjorie Carolyn Sanders' Obituary
Marjorie Carolyn (Swanson) Sanders passed away Sunday morning, September 18, 2016 at the age of 94.She was born June 1, 1922 in Kane, Pennsylvania to Leo Carl Swanson and Mildred Violet (Christenson) Swanson. Marjorie married Earl Leroy Sanders on September 2, 1939. They had five children, David, Linda, Ronald, Barbara, and Judith.
Marjorie enjoyed sewing, quilting, and crocheting. She moved to Okmulgee in 1949. Marjorie was a member of the First Presbyterian Church, and the Okmulgee Memorial Hospital Ladies Auxiliary. She is preceded in death by her parents, husband Earl, daughters, Linda Ana Strong, Barbara Jean Bishop, and Judith Ann Sanders.
Left to cherish her memory are her sons, David Sanders and wife Martha and Ronald Sanders and wife Dana, son-in-law Charles Strong, nine grandchildren, twelve great grandchildren, and two great great grandchildren.
A funeral service for Marjorie will be held at 4:00 P.M. on Wednesday, September 21, 2016 at the McClendon-Winters Funeral Home Chapel with Reverend J. Rodgers Spencer officiating. Interment will follow in Okmulgee Cemetery. Friends may visit the Funeral Home on Tuesday, September 20, 2016 from 12:00 P.M. until 8:00 P.M. Arrangements have been entrusted to McClendon-Winters Funeral Home of Okmulgee.
