Marjorie Buchanan's Obituary
Marjorie Elizabeth Buchanan 87,a resident of Highland Park Manor, died in Okmulgee Saturday, September 19, 2009. She was born July 15th 1922 in Hustonville, Kentucky to Irwin and Mary Christine (Lair) Peyton. She married her High School sweetheart Earl Buchanan. Earl served in WW II and in 1950 they moved to Okmulgee from Akron, Ohio.
Margaret was a Homemaker and for many years the Office Manager of Ned Hall Insurance Agency. Marjorie was an Active Member of the First Christian Church in Okmulgee.
Margaret was preceded in death by her parents, her husband and a sister Dorothy Dunn.
Survivors include her sons James Buchanan of Hectorville and Alan Buchanan and wife Kari of Okmulgee, many nieces, nephews and friends.
Funeral Services will be on Wednesday, September 23, 2009 at 2:00 P.M.. at the First Christian Church in Okmulgee. Minister Charlie Green will officiate. Burial will be in Okmulgee, Cemetery. Casketbearers will be Darel Collins, John Fidler, Jim Bledsoe, David Howe, Calvin Harned and Jack Harlan. Friends may visit the funeral home on Tuesday from 12-8 P.M. Arrangements are under the direction of the McClendon-Winters Funeral Home of Okmulgee.
