Margaret Ann House's Obituary
Margaret Ann House 55, resident of Okmulgee, died in Okmulgee Monday. She was born January 18, 1954 in Hampton, Virginia. In 1959, Margaret’s family moved back to Okmulgee where she attended Morris school. Margaret graduated from Morris High School in 1972 and Oklahoma State Tech School of Nursing in 1974. She married Kent Parton of Grandfield, Oklahoma in 1974 and was blessed with the birth of their daughter, Germaine, in 1975. Years later, Margaret came back to Okmulgee, then moved to Louisiana, and then came back to Okmulgee in 2005. Anyone who was acquainted with Margaret knew she was truly one of God’s angels on earth. She was always so kind and generous to anyone she met and had many friends. Margaret volunteered at the Okmulgee Humane Society whenever she could.
Margaret was preceded in death by her parents, Byron and Madeleine Payton of Okmulgee, ex-husband Kent Parton, and brother-in-law Gary Sanders of Okmulgee. Survivors include her daughter Germaine Mowery and husband Monty, four beautiful grandchildren; Manon, Henna, Judah, and Ezra all of China, sister Mary Sanders of Okmulgee and nephew Steven Sanders and family of Cleveland, Ohio.
Funeral services will be on Saturday, September 19, 2009, at 10:00 A.M. at the McClendon-Winters Chapel. Elder Bob Barthel will officiate. Burial will be in the Okmulgee Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Steven Sanders, Donnie Jones, Brian Howard, Mark Howard and Kevin Howard. Visitation will be on Friday, 1-8 pm. The family suggests contributions be made to the Okmulgee Humane Society.
