Lloyd Joe Johnson's Obituary
Lloyd Joe Johnson, a resident of Okmulgee, passed away Friday, December 11, 2015 at St. John Medical Center in Tulsa. He was 79 years of age. Lloyd was born October 28, 1936 in Morris, Oklahoma to the late Denver C. and Frieda (Blackburn) Johnson. He served his country in the U.S. Air Force. He married Billie Fitzpatrick on June 13, 1957 in Muskogee. Lloyd worked for many years at Oklahoma Natural Gas, retiring in 2001. Throughout the years he was very active in civic organizations, including the Jaycees, Lions Club and Rotary. He enjoyed fishing and loved being with kids.
Lloyd was preceded in death by his parents, wife and siblings.
Survivors include his companion, Linda Morton, of the home, sons, Jerry and Bradley Johnson, both of Jigger, Louisiana, daughters, Donna Riffel and husband Ron of Guymon, Sarah King of Bixby, Amanda Christie and husband Raymond of Guymon, Sandy Gimmel and husband Doug of Edmond and Kasey Morton and husband Chris Taylor, grandchildren, Denver King, Olivia Roberts and Nick Taylor, brother, Bill Johnson and wife Nina of Morris, sister-in-law, Barbara Branch and husband Joe of Russellville, Arkansas and numerous nieces and nephews.
A service to celebrate Lloyd’s life will be held Monday, December 14, 2015 at the McClendon-Winters Funeral Home Chapel.
Memorial contributions are suggested to the Salvation Army Food Bank or the local charity of your choice.
Arrangements and cremation services have been entrusted to the McClendon-Winters Funeral Home of Okmulgee.
