Lena Rae Patterson's Obituary
Lena Rae Patterson died in Okmulgee on November 29, 2013 at 95 years of age. Lena was born February 12, 1918 in Star, Mississippi to Emmett Edward and Lanah Ellen (Bounds) Lambert. On October 5, 1945 in Jackson, Mississippi she married Joseph Wright Patterson who preceded her in death in 1983. She was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Coalgate, Oklahoma and the Home Extension Club.
Lena was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, a son James Wright Patterson, a granddaughter Jennifer Suzanne Patterson and one brother Emmett Lambert. She is survived by a daughter Linda Baxter and husband Bob of Okmulgee, son Charles Lambert Patterson and wife Karen of Houston, Texas, six grandchildren, ten great grandchildren and one brother William Eldon Lambert.
A graveside service will be held on Tuesday, December 3, 2013 at 11:00 A.M. at the Cairo Cemetery in Coalgate, Oklahoma with Reverend Brian Matthews officiating. Friends may see Lena at the McClendon-Winters Funeral Home in Okmulgee on Monday from 12:00 – 8:00 P.M. with the family present to greet guests from 6:00 – 8:00 P.M. The family request memorial contributions be made to the Cairo Cemetery Association Rt. 1, Box 680, Coalgate, OK 74538.
