LaVeda June Brill's Obituary
LaVeda June Brill, 82 year old lifelong Morris resident, passed away Monday evening, June 15, 2020 at her home. She was born to Cecil Eldridge Vaughan and Elizabeth (Hunter) Vaughn in Morris, Oklahoma on February 19th, 1938. She married Donald Brill on August, 14th 1954 in Morris. LaVeda enjoyed cross stitching, cooking, baking, quilting, and she loved to play the piano. LaVeda was a member of the Morris United Pentecost Church. She worked for many years at the Cattleman’s Café and M & L Water District. She was preceded in death by her parents, brother, Kenneth Vaughan, sisters-in-law, Zula Vaughan and Frances Vaughan and a half-brother, David Vaughan. Survivors include her husband of 65 years, Donald Brill, daughter, Karen Wilson and husband Gary of Morris, son, Kent Brill and wife Connie of Morris and son Kevin Brill and wife Debbie of Weleetka, grandchildren, Kendra Fitzl, Kristy Fitzl, Rodney Brill and wife Mandy, Kimberly Abbott and husband Eric and Marshall Andrews and wife Misty, all of Morris, great grandchildren, Ryatt Brill, Kelby King, Austyn Mosco, Khiya Mosco, Brayley Abbott, Shelby Abbott, Dakota Andrews and Dayton Andrews, all of Morris, a brother, Dathan Vaughan of Claremore, half-sister, Sandy Edgemond of Ft. Smith, Arkansas, a step-sister, Margaret Wainwright of Henryetta and a very special friend that was like a sister, Melba Chastain. LaVeda was also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends Thursday evening from 6:00 P.M. – 8:00 P.M. at the McClendon-Winters Funeral Home of Okmulgee.
A funeral service will be held 10:00 A.M. Friday, June 19, 2020 at the Morris United Pentecostal Church. Interment will follow at the Morris Cemetery. Casketbearers will be Rodney Brill, Marshall Andrews, Jimmie Hurt, Mike Chastain, Mark Chastain and Mike Foster. Honorary Casketbearers will be Wayne Wainwright and Mike Rohatch.
