Laura Yvonne McElhannon's Obituary
Laura Yvonne McElhannon, 71, longtime resident of Okmulgee, died Friday, February 4, 2011at her home. She was born October 14, 1939 in Henryetta to the late Bernard Charles and Maggie (Brownfield) Murray. She graduated from Okmulgee High School, where she was on the state champion Majorette Team. She was an LPN, working most of her life in area nursing homes. Mrs. McElhannon is survived by her children, Charles McElhannon and wife Bonita of Pea Ridge, Arkansas, Chris McElhannon and wife Donna of Hammond, Louisiana, and Dianna McElhannon of Virginia, sisters, Joan Chism and Peggy Boatman, both of Broken Arrow and Linda McKay of Okmulgee, grandchildren, Crystal Denise Fuselier, Stephen McElhannon, Crystal Marie Wilkalis, Jimmie McElhannon, Eric McElhannon, Melonie McElhannon, Justin McElhannon, Nicole Armond, Amanda Donnelly and Patrick Donnelly, great grandchildren, Brendon Wilkalis, Caden Fuselier, Anna Marie McElhannon, Ashton McElhannon, and Cailey Fuselier, and numerous nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held 7:00 P.M. Tuesday evening, February 8, 2011 at the McClendon-Winters Funeral Home Chapel with Reverend Richard McElhannon officiating. The family will receive friends beginning at 6:00 P.M. Honorary casketbearers will be Clayton Fuselier, Jimmie McElhannon, Eric McElhannon, Justin McElhannon, Patrick McElhannon, and Stephen McElhannon. Due to inclement weather a private family interment will be held. Arrangements are under the direction of the McClendon-Winters Funeral Home of Okmulgee.
