Larry John Bear's Obituary
Larry John Bear, longtime Okmulgee resident, passed away Monday, December 12, 2022, in Tulsa at sixty-nine years of age. He was born February 24, 1953, in Tahlequah, Oklahoma to John Bear and Juanita (Artussee) Bear. Larry was a family man and was known by many as “Yogi”. He enjoyed watching basketball, going to stomp dances and spending time with his nieces and nephews. He worked for Wrights Tree Service for many years.
Larry was preceded in death by his parents, a nephew, Joseph LaSarge and a sister, Jean Hicks. Survivors include his siblings, Mose Factor, Mary and Scotty Harjo and Mike Marshall, nephews, Josiah and Jessica LaSarge , Jeremiah and Breanna LaSarge and Matthew Harjo, nieces, Marissa Harjo and Makayla Harjo, great nephews, Tobias Hill, Kasiah LaSarge, Tyson LaSarge and Taber LaSarge, great nieces, Amiyra Hill, Davia Harjo, Isabella Harjo, Taylor Harjo, Ryann Harjo, Alize Harjo, Annalese Harjo, Tessa Jane Harjo and Lehayv Hill, special nephews, Jeremiah and Karrie Hicks, Bradley and Lindsey Hicks, Brock and Maddison Hicks, Jared Hicks, Virgil (Bubba) and Melissa Sanders, Bryan (Beanz) Sanders, and Briar and Lindsey Reedy, and special niece, Alisha Hicks, a host of relatives and friends.
A Wake Service will begin at 7:00 P.M., Thursday, December 15, 2022, at Big Cussetah United Methodist Church.
A Funeral Service will be held at 2:00 P.M., Friday, December 16, 2022, at Big Cussetah United Methodist Church following by interment in Artussee Family Cemetery.
