Kenneth Milton Mann's Obituary
Kenneth Milton Mann was born November 15, 1933 to Wilford Russell and Ruby Madeline (Chell) Mann. He graduated from Okmulgee High School in 1951 and Oklahoma University in 1955 with a BBA Degree in Finance. He was a member of the Phi Kappa Psi Fraternity, which after his freshman year elected him Rush Chairman, which he did without a car, hitchhiking the state contacting prospects. Kenneth served in the United States Army from 1955-1957 attaining the rank of Captain. On April 5, 1958, Kenneth and Shirley Moore were married in Eufaula, Oklahoma. He served on the Boards of Okmulgee Savings and Loan Association, Okmulgee Country Club, and the First United Methodist Church where he was a faithful member since 1958. Kenneth owned and operated Mann Insurance Agency and First Finance Company.
Kenneth enjoyed quail hunting, golf, and fishing, especially fishing in Minnesota at the family cabin on Crosslake, Minnesota and floating the Illinois River.
Preceding Kenneth in death were his parents, wife Shirley on December 22, 1982, a brother, Burton Mann and a sister, Joyce Wright.
Survivors include his daughters, Valerie Kay Gould of Jenks and Jennifer Timken and husband David of Murfreesboro, Tennessee, three grandchildren, Mason Timken, Jackson Timken and Olivia Gould, and a brother, Bill Mann of Guam.
The family will receive friends on Friday evening from 5:00 P.M. – 7:00 P.M. at the funeral home.
A funeral service will be held 2:00 P.M., Saturday, July 22, 2023 at the First United Methodist Church in Okmulgee. Interment will follow in the Okmulgee Cemetery. Casketbearers will be Dave Timken, Mason Timken, Jackson Timken, Frank Priegel, Jr., Rob Hess and Billy Mann. Honorary casketbearer will be Paul Eugene Baker.
Memorial contributions may be made in Kenneth’s memory to the Okmulgee Humane Society or St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.
