Kenneth "Gene" Swarer's Obituary
Kenneth Eugene “Gene” Swarer, longtime Nuyaka resident, passed away Friday, April 28, 2017 at his home. He was 75 years of age. Gene was born July 26, 1941 in Coweta to the late Dewey and Rosie (Bates) Swarer. He attended Porter Schools. He married Jenice Vaughn in August of 1961 in Coweta. Gene enjoyed hunting deer and turkey and fishing. He enjoyed his time at the farm, gardening and riding his four-wheeler. He was ranch foreman at the Rainbow Valley Ranch and later worked for IRIS as an x-ray technician and courier.
Gene was preceded in death by his parents, two sisters, Louise Watkins and Dorothy Clayton and two brothers, Lonnie Swarer and Dewey Dale Swarer.
Survivors include his wife Jenice of the home, daughters, Cindy Thompson of Nuyaka and Cyrilla Peck and husband Greg of Porter, grandchildren, Bobbie and husband Carlos Hurst of Schulter, Jake Thompspn of Nuyaka, Ethan Peck of Porter, and Mandy Peck and Matt Smith of Porter, great grandchildren, Hailey, Ryan, Kylie, Kobey and Cash, all of Schulter, a brother, Jack Swarer and wife Velma of Coweta and numerous nieces and nephews.
Friends may visit the funeral home on Wednesday from 1:00 P.M. – 8:00 P.M in Beggs. The family will be present to receive guests from 5:00 P.M.-7:00 P.M.
A funeral service will be held 10:00 A.M. Thursday, May 4, 2017 at the Nuyaka Baptist Church with Reverend Jarrod Kendall officiating and Gerald Toon will say a new words. Interment will follow in the Beggs Cemetery. Casketbearers will be Jake Thompson, Ethan Peck, Steven McCune, Chris Warrington, Will Johnson, and Diamond Green. Honorary casketbearers will be Bill Cody, Wes Hopping, Floyd Ryder, Jim Couch, and Ed Greene.
Arrangements have been entrusted to the McClendon-Winters Funeral Home of Beggs.
