Joy Yvonne Willhite's Obituary
Joy Yvonne Willhite, longtime Mounds resident, passed away Wednesday, April 1, 2015 at her home. She was 88 years of age. Joy was born October 2, 1926 in Muskogee to Lloyd Shore and Mary Juanita (Bass) James. She worked for many years as a waitress and enjoyed reading. Her greatest love was spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, son, John T. Willhite, great grandson, Dakota Walls, brothers, Jerald Jarrard and Lloyd James, Jr. and the father of her children, Ted Willhite. Survivors include her son, Jim Willhite and wife Virginia of Vian, twin daughters, Rita T. McBride and husband Keith of Porter and Nita R. Walls of Mounds, grandchildren, Trenton Lee McBride and wife Beth, Donnie Lenn McBride and wife Voletta, Johnnie Lee Walls II and wife Marla, Jimmy W. Willhite and wife Kim, Ginger Willhite, Rebecca T. McBride, and Courtney E. McBride, 17 great grandchildren and one great great grandchild.
A graveside service will be held 10:00 A.M. Saturday, April 4, 2015 at the Keota Cemetery with Trenton McBride officiating. Friends may visit the funeral home on Friday from 12:00 P.M. – 8:00 P.M.
