Jonas Rusty Lowe's Obituary
Jonas Rusty Lowe was born September 21, 1947, in Okmulgee, Oklahoma to Andrew Lowe and Nora Roberts. He passed away October 5, 2017 in Tulsa, Oklahoma
Rusty graduated from Nuyaka High School and attended Oklahoma State Tech.
He joined the Army in 1966, serving in Thailand.
Rusty married Gloria Lowe March 23, 1968. He had six children; Barry, Vincent, Kimberly, Edward, William and Amber. He had 8 brothers, 5 sisters; 24 grandchildren and 19 great grandchildren.
Rusty was an artist and accomplished Master of Native Beadwork. Beading pieces of art for Mayors, Senators and Indian Chiefs. Many pieces of his work going to many countries.
Rusty was baptized at an early age and member of Nuyaka Indian Baptist Church. In later years he joined Big Cussetah Indian Methodist Church as an associate member.
He was an active member, taking to heart his service to the church as a bell ringer.
Rusty was the only male member of Big Cussetah’s United Methodist Women, attending every meeting.
He will surely be missed by the children (and some adults, too) for sharing his pocketful of candy.
He loved fishing and picking wild onions. He was a good athlete playing basketball, baseball and softball.
His greatest pastime was attempting to hit the jackpot at the casinos….and he loved to dance and dress up for Halloween.
Rusty is preceded in death by grandparents, Chick and Nancy Roberts, Jackson and Jemima Lowe, parents Andrew Lowe and Nora Roberts; daughter Kimberly; brothers, William, Alexander and Freeman. Survivors are wife, Gloria, children, Barry, Vince, Eddie, William and Amber; sisters Joanna, Christine, and Andra; brothers, Raymond, David, Nick, Nacoma and Kanuggie. Also a host of nieces, nephews and many relatives and friends.
