John Spaulding Broach's Obituary
John Spaulding Broach, 77, a resident of Okmulgee, died Thursday, November 18, 2010. He was born June 28, 1933, to Frederick and Gladys Broach.
John was born and raised in Tulsa. He was a graduate of Tulsa Central High School and then received a graduate degree from the Oklahoma School of Accounting. He served in the United States Army and was honorably discharged in 1956. He was then employed for 18 years by the First National Bank of Tulsa and 30 years for the First National Bank of Okmulgee. After retiring in June of 1999, he continued working parttime.
He was preceded in death by his father and mother.
Survivors include his wife Joyce of the home; one son, Fred Broach and wife Jana of Yukon; two daughters; Lynnda Broach Brown of Broken Arrow; Lori Broach Helgerson and husband Mike of Garland, Texas; four grandsons and one granddaughter; The mother of John’s children, Virginia Wright Broach; four step-daughters, Brenda Williams and husband Russ of Morris; Dana Stang of Broken Arrow; Sonya Willison and husband Jim of Texas; and Shawna Couch and husband Darren of Okmulgee; and six grandsons, six granddaughters and two great grandsons.
Graveside services will be held at the Memorial Park Cemetery in Tulsa on Monday, November 22, 2010 at 11:00 A.M. Honorary casket bearers are grandsons, Douglas Broach, Alex Broach, Robert Brown, and Christopher Helgerson. Friends may visit with the family at the McClendon-Winters Funeral Home in Okmulgee on Sunday, November 21, 2010 from 3:00 – 6:00 P.M. The family requests donations be made in John’s memory to the Okmulgee Humane Society 1239 N. Okmulgee Ave. Okmulgee, OK 74447, 918-759-2000.
