Johnny “Gene” Claborn Sr., 79, of Okmulgee passed away peacefully on Sunday afternoon, October 28, 2012. Gene was born on July 12, 1933 in Dustin, OK to Lonnie and Sue Claborn. He graduated from Graham High School in 1951 and then Read Obituary
I was glad to have cut Genes hair for the last 20 plus years. I was always impressed with his work ethic and outlook on life. My prayers are with the Claborn family.
When I started as a new instructor at OSUIT, Gene was one of the outstanding instuctors that took me under wing and showed me how technical training should be done. As graduates return to see what is new at OSUIT, Gene is one of the instructors they always ask about. Gene was responsible for many young men getting the great training that have allowed them to be successful in their career and provide very well for their families. Thank you Gene.
Gene was a good friend of many years....always had a smile and a pleasant greeting...a good family man...a great teacher...a super friend.
I have had the honor of knowing dthe Claborn family since childhood. Mr (Gene) Claborn was one of the finest men I have ever known. My heart goes out to Mrs. (Ginny) Claborn and both Johnny and Larry. He will be missed dearly.
