Johnny M. Arrowood's Obituary
Johnny Mack Arrowood, age 71, passed away on October 19, 2024, at Saint Francis Hospital. He was born on May 10, 1953, in Tulsa, Oklahoma, to John "Cecil" and Gladys (Taylor) Arrowood. Johnny graduated from Bixby High School and pursued his education at OSU Tech in Okmulgee, Oklahoma.
He began his career in the autobody industry, working for a few years before transitioning to a long and successful career as an insurance adjuster with Allstate, where he remained until his retirement.
Johnny was a talented musician who played with various bands throughout his life. His musical journey led to an exciting opportunity to play guitar for the legendary Johnny Cash; however, due to his young age, he was released from the job before he ever began. Johnny had a true passion for the outdoors, where he spent countless hours gardening, planting, and creating bright, beautiful displays of flowers. His love for nature extended to his animals as well; he adored his cows and chickens, lovingly naming each and every one of them.
Johnny is preceded in death by his parents, a step-child Robert "Keith" Sanderson. He is survived by his loving wife, Bernice Gurny Arrowood, with whom he shared 35 years of marriage, son David Arrowood and wife Anna, daughter Toni Feldtman and husband Eldon, three step-children Buddy Sanderson and wife Felicia, Kenny Ashley Jr. and wife Tasha and Stacy Edwards
grandchildren Emily and Avery Arrowood, Raine Arrowood-Scheper, River, Lake and Creek Feldtman.
He will be remembered for his dedication to his work, his musical talents, and the joy he brought to those around him.
Viewing will be 9:00 AM to 1:00 PM, Friday , October 25, 2024 at the McClendon-Winters Funeral Home of Beggs.
Graveside services will be held 2:00 PM, Friday October 25, 2024 at the Beggs Cemetery.
