John Cole Miner's Obituary
John Cole Miner was born on November 29, 1967 in Tulsa, Oklahoma to Denver Eugene Miner II and Peggy Lee (Abernathy) Hughes. He passed away on Sunday, March 10, 2013. John was survived by both his parents, Three sons, John Cole Miner, Stone Edward Miner and Steele Denver Miner of Defiance Ohio and one sister Lesley Lee Creason and husband Michael of Okmulgee Oklahoma, and two brothers Denver Eugene Miner III of Sequin, TX and Donald Colin Miner and wife Jeana of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma and many nieces and nephews and great nieces and great nephews.
John was a graduate of Okmulgee High School in 1986. He went on to become a professional water skier for Sea World San Antonio, Texas and Holiday Park in Hasloch Germany and many other European countries. John always pushed the envelope in water skiing as well as life. John was an entrepreneur that started several businesses in Oklahoma, Texas and Ohio. John loved to build and work on cars, trucks motorcycles and boats. A Jack of all trades he was able to fix as many things as he broke.
Though he was divorced and separated from his children in Ohio he loved and treasured them regardless of the many obstacles that clouded his life. John had a magnetic personality and shared his love of life with his family and friends. Few people on this Earth get to experience life like John did and even though his light burned out early it burned brighter than the sun while he was here.
A service to celebrate the life of John Cole Miner will be will be held 10 A.M. Wednesday, March 13, 2013 at the First Baptist Church in Okmulgee with Pastor John Bugg of Stillwater, Oklahoma leading the service. A reception will be held after the service at First Baptist Church. Visitation will be Tuesday, 2:00 pm until 8 Pm. at the McClendon-Winters Funeral Home.
