Joe Vernon Reed's Obituary
Joe Vernon Reed, longtime Beggs resident, passed away Thursday, February 24, 2022 at Saint Francis Hospital South in Tulsa. He was 67 years of age. Joe was born the only child of the late Stanley Vernon and Nellie Grace (Cox) Reed on Sunday, May 23, 1954. He graduated from Beggs High School in 1972. He loved playing baseball, basketball and football when young and later enjoyed fishing and hunting with dogs. After graduating, Joe opened a barber shop in Beggs. Joe then became a welder and a finish carpenter. He spent many years remodeling Pizza Huts along with helping build and remodel several other restaurants. Joe would later retire from Pine Properties in Okmulgee. Survivors include his children, Gary Reed, Michael Reed, and Elizabeth Dixon and husband Andy, grandchildren, Beau Reed, Kayla Lester and husband Trey, Emily Chreene and husband Casey, Derek Reed, Gage Dixon and Jace Dixon and three great grandchildren.
Services will be held at a later date.
