Jerry Wayne Smith's Obituary
Jerry Wayne Smith, a resident of Okmulgee, died Thursday, August 4, 2011 at St. John Medical Center in Tulsa at the age of 60. Jerry was born in Okemah, Oklahoma on August 2, 1951 to Alfred Maloy and Nellie Beaulah (Canoy) Smith. He was previously employeed at OSU-Okmulgee. He loved watching any type of ball games and enjoyed working crossword puzzles. Jerry truly loved his family.
He was preceded in death by his parents, three brothers: Bill Smith, George Smith and Gene Smith, and two sisters: Linda Smith and Evelyn Starkey.
Jerry is survived by two brothers: Edward Smith and wife Judy of Jones, Oklahoma, and Delbert Smith and wife Vicki of Amarillo, Texas, four sisters: Wanda Williams and husband Joe of Okmulgee, Frances Brewer of Okemah, Debbie Custar and husband David of Okemah, and Vonell Lassiter and husband Leo of Henryetta, sisters-in-law: Geraldine Smith of Edmond, Oklahoma, Sue Smith-Boland of Meeker, Oklahoma and Polly Smith of Luther, Oklahoma, and numerous nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews.
Graveside services will be held on Monday, August 8, 2011 at 10:00 A.M. at the Okfuskee Cemetery with Pastor Notchie Twist officiating. Friends may view Jerry at the McClendon-Winters Funeral Home in Okmulgee on Sunday from 2:00-6:00 P.M.
