Janet Kay Hoover's Obituary
Janet Kay Hoover passed away Friday, April 14, 2023 at her Nuyaka residence. She was fifty-eight years of age. Janet was born Thursday, January 21, 1965 at the Doctor’s Hospital in Okmulgee to Vernon Lee Mann and Marie Sue (Hardesty) Mann. She grew up in Boynton. Janet married Jerry Hoover on July 31, 2004 in Okmulgee. Janet was a wonderful cook. She owned a café in Morris before cooking at OSU-IT Cowboy Café and Sapulpa Public Schools. She also worked at the Okmulgee County Homeless Shelter Thrift Store. She enjoyed vegetable and flower gardening and her fur babies. Janet will be remembered for her giving heart and her love for Jerry.
Janet was preceded in death by her father, son, James Coleman “Jay” Cowles, sister, Charlotte Ginther and brother, Steve Mann.
Survivors include her husband, Jerry Hoover, mother, Sue Mann, daughters, Misty Lloyd and husband Robert, Amy McCray and husband Nathan and Angela Wilson and husband Robert, grandchildren, Jyace and Barrett Cowles, Kailey Johnson and husband Ty, Kayne and Kamryn Daniels, Mya and Ari Jackson and Kendall and Kallen Lloyd, sisters, Shannon Barnes, Judy Hanna and Donna Lorenz, daughter-in-law, Alychia Cowles, nieces and nephews, Brian Shanks, Matt Lorenz, Shelby Mann, Josh Hanna, Miranda Diles, Devon Barnes, Whitney Barnes, and Maci Barnes, and very special neighbors and friends, Jim and Stephanie Hall.
A Memorial Service will be held 2:00 P.M. Friday, April 21, 2023 at the McClendon-Winters Funeral Home Chapel.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial contributions be made to the Okmulgee Humane Society in Janet’s memory.
