James William "Bill" Good's Obituary
James William (Bill) Good, 80, of Okmulgee, died in Okmulgee on Wednesday, March 23, 2011. He was born in Okmulgee to Ernest Lee and Ruby Elizabeth (Throckmorton) Good on October 20, 1930. Bill graduated from the Henryetta High School and then attended and graduated from Oklahoma State A & M. He joined the United States Navy on January 22, 1951 and served during the Korean Conflict.
He was very active in his church serving as an Elder also a Deacon and Sunday School Teacher. Bill was a member of the Masonic Lodge and the First Christian Church in Morris, Oklahoma. His loves were his wife, children, grandchildren, great grandchildren, fishing, travel and his friends. His parents and a brother Earnest Good preceded him in death.
Surviving him are his wife Marie of the home, a daughter Debra and husband Bruce Henley of Sapulpa, Oklahoma, son Chris and wife Kelley Good of Wagoner, Oklahoma, a sister, Redy Sue Campbell of Henryetta, Oklahoma, grandchildren Garrett Henley, Ashley Scico, Johnathan Good, Taryn Good and Stephen Good, step-daughter Karlena and husband Bill White of Tulsa, the mother of his children Cecelia McMahan of McAlister, Oklahoma, four step-grandchildren and five great grandchildren.
Visitation with the family will be on Saturday, 4 until 6 pm at the McClendon-Winters Funeral Home. Memorial service will be on Monday, 1 pm at the McClendon-Winters Funeral Home with Rev. Tim Reeves officiating. Inurnment will be in the Okmulgee Cemetery. Family suggests memorials in Bill’s name be made to the American Cancer Society. Honorary pallbearers will are Garrett Henley, Johnathan Good, Jim Xezonatos, Lloyd Cobb, Bill White and Dave Reynolds. Condolences may be made at mcclendon-winters.com.
