James Robert "Bob" Brewer's Obituary
James Robert "Bob" Brewer passed from this life on Tuesday, November 5, 2019 at the age of 85. He was born to the late James Herbert "Whitey" Brewer and Ora (Weaver) Brewer on April 6, 1934 in Elk City, Oklahoma. At the age of twenty-two he became a radio broadcaster. Bob was a United States Air Force Veteran. He enjoyed the outdoors, fishing and piddling with his cows. He was a radio broadcaster for the local radio station KOKL and was inducted in the Broadcasters Hall of Fame. His three sons will continue to carry on his legacy of broadcasting. Bob loved listening to music and singing. He was a member of the First Baptist Church in Okmulgee.
Preceding Bob in death are his parents, sister Jodi, brother Bill and grandson Bane. Those left to cherish all of the wonderful memories of Bob is his wife Doris Brewer, children Bret and Donna Brewer of Woodward, Blake and wife Amber Brewer of Elk City, Brooks and wife Phyllis Brewer of Bixby, and Cameron Brewer, Stepsons Blake and wife Alissa Puckett of Henryetta, Jason and Casey Puckett of Muskogee, grandchildren Delon, Branson, Asher, Kyle, Cody, Clinton, Jaden, Yashia, Kaylin, and Curtis, great grandchildren Aiden and Evergreen, and brother Jack and wife Barbara Brewer.
A service will be held 2:00 P.M. Wednesday, November 13, 2019 at the McClendon-Winters Funeral Home Chapel with Reverend Jerry Fielder to officiate. Interment will follow at the Morris Cemetery. Friends may visit the funeral home Tuesday from 1:00 P.M. to 8:00 P.M. Arrangements have been entrusted to the McClendon-Winters Funeral Home of Okmulgee.
