James K. Bingman's Obituary
James Kent Bingman was born November 01, 1940, to James Boyd Bingman and Johnnie Lou (Brown) Bingman. He attended the old Horace Mann Elementary school and graduated from Okmulgee High School in 1958. He attended Westminster University – Fulton, Missouri 1958-59 and was a member of Sigma Chi Fraternity; he transferred to Tulsa University 1959-1960. He served in the United States Air Force in 1961-67. After honorable discharge from the Air Force, he attended Oklahoma State Tech, graduating 1961: Industrial Electrical Maintenance.
On May 30, 1968, James and Ann Jones Davis were married in Okmulgee. He was a member of First United Methodist Church in Okmulgee.
Surviving James include his wife Ann, daughter Gina of Denton Texas, and son Dicky and wife Rebecca of Okmulgee, three grandchildren and four great-grandchildren who know him as “Bop”.
The family will receive friends Monday evening from 5-7 pm at the funeral home. A funeral service will be held at 10 am Tuesday at the McClendon-Winters chapel in Okmulgee. Interment will follow at Okmulgee Cemetery.
Casketbearers will be Dick Bingman, Butch Smith, Bryan Jones, Audie Parsons, Rick Creason and Fred Harlan. Honorary casketbearers with be Alex, Jayden, and Jarrett Jones, Kimber Sanderson, Kylie Williamson, Katelyn Wilson, Adam and Josh Parsons.
Memorial contributions may be made in James’s memory to Okmulgee Animal
Shelter.
