Jackie Ray Pendergrass' Obituary
Jackie Ray Pendergrass, Sr., 73, of Beggs, Okla. passed away at his home on Tuesday, April 16, 2024, with his family by his side.
Jackie was born on December 16, 1950, in Sapulpa, Okla. to Wilburn Pendergrass and Macel (Self) Pendergrass.
Jackie married Carol Ann Berryhill on March 15, 1974. The two were each other’s lifelong companions and friends.
Jackie worked as a tree trimmer and arborist for many years of his life. He retired from Wright Tree Service in 2012.
Jackie enjoyed good conversation, fishing, hunting, and his coon dogs with which he won many awards. Most of all, Jackie cherished spending time with his family.
Jackie is preceded in death by his parents; brother, Frankie; and son, Bo.
Jackie is survived by his wife of the home; sons, Jackie Pendergrass, Jr. of the home; Steve Pendergrass and wife, Tara of Mounds; Mark Pendergrass and husband, Brian OnTheHill of Beggs; daughter-in-law, Kim of Beggs; grandsons, Cody, Christian, Garrett, Dusty, and Jesse; granddaughter, Abeni; great grandchildren, Bo, Maison, Briston, and S.J.; brothers, Curtis and David, Tim and wife Viv and Gary; sisters, Kay Ramsey and Patricia Carner, sister-in-law, Karen; numerous nieces and nephews; best friend, Jonny Hood; and a host of other family and friends.
Jackie will be dearly missed by his family and friends and will be remembered best for the love he shared with them all.
Visitation is Friday, April 19, 1:00 PM-7:00 PM, at the McClendon-Winters Funeral Home, Beggs. Funeral services held Saturday, April 20, 11:00 AM, at Concharty Church, Okmulgee.
Pallbearers will be Jackie’s six grandchildren. The family wishes a heartfelt thank you to all that have supported them throughout such a difficult time. Thank you for your condolences and prayers.
