Glenna Marie Day's Obituary
Glenna Marie Day, age 81, of Okmulgee, died in Corralitos, CA on November 10, 2014. She was born August 14, 1933, in Okemah, OK, to James and Clara McMillen.
Glenna married Edward W. (“Red”) Day on June 22, 1956. They had two sons, Michael Stephen, of Okmulgee, and Daniel Patrick, of Scotts Valley, CA.
Glenna worked for Southwestern Bell as a telephone operator for over thirty years. After she retired, she became an avid gardener and accomplished painter. She spent much of her time remodeling and renovating her home and other properties she owned.
Glenna was preceded in death by her husband, Red, and her parents.
She is survived by her two sons, Mike and Pat, and Pat’s wife, Donna; three sisters, Mary Lesley of Okemah, OK, Linda Clark of Bernice, OK, and Judi Unterkircher and her husband, Charles, of Okemah, OK; five grandchildren, Matthew, Jonathan, Stephen, Christopher and Jessica; three great-grandchildren, Jonas, Delilah and Stella Marie; and dear friends, Paula Day, Pam Acton, Pat Sarber, Marlene Stange, and Gene Simmons.
A Life Celebration will be held at 1:30 p.m. on Monday, December 29 at the McClendon-Winters Life Celebration Center located at 310 East Sixth Street in Okmulgee, OK.
