Gladys Irene Mathis' Obituary
Gladys Irene Mathis passed away Sunday, September 17, 2017 at Rebold Manor in Okmulgee at the age of 96 years. She was born Saturday, June 11, 1921 in Bear Creek, Arkansas to the late Walter and Ethel (Henson) Bohannon. She was a devoted wife, mother, and grandmother. She enjoyed gardening and was a member of First Assembly of God church in Okmulgee.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband Orvan Mathis, son Jerry Mathis, sisters Willodean Judd, Wanda Judd, brothers Kenneth Bohannon and Keith Bohannon. She is survived by her sister Juanita Mathis of Ukiah, California, son Ron and wife Jerri Lynn Mathis of Okmulgee, grandchildren Kemberly and husband Clint Horn of Park Hill, Oklahoma, Jason and wife Kembra Mathis of Bella Vista, Arkansas, Megan and husband Nick Grogan of Park Hill, Oklahoma, Jennifer and husband Jacob Newton of Harrah, Oklahoma, Kevin and wife Tina Mathis of Bristow, Oklahoma and fourteen great grandchildren.
A Funeral Service for Mrs. Mathis will be held at 1:00 P.M., Wednesday, September 20, 2017 at the McClendon-Winters Funeral Home Chapel with Reverend Ray Moffeit officiating. Interment will follow at the Okmulgee Cemetery. Friends may visit the funeral home on Tuesday, September 19, 2017 from 1:00 P.M. until 8:00 P.M. with family present from 5:00 P.M.-7:00 P.M. Arrangements have been entrusted to the McClendon-Winters Funeral Home of Okmulgee.
